Regent’s annual Secondary Swim Gala took place on Tuesday 7th March.
The day began with Key Stage 3 students competing in the morning, with our Blue House who unsurprisingly have the Shark as their house emblem taking an early lead, which they managed to just about hang on to going into the afternoon, where our Key Stage 4 and 5 students took to the water to compete in a variety of serious races and fun games.
As the day entered the final stages Red House were beginning to catch their fierce rivals, however the introduction of the ‘ride it cowboy race’ whereby competitors have to swim with a noodle float between their legs in a relay race, provided much amusement and some controversial disqualifications.
This resulted in Blue House hanging on to the lead and taking home the Swimming Gala House Cup.
The school Chairman, Dr. Virachai Techavijit, in his capacity as Consul General a.h. for Republic of Estonia arranged a musical evening to celebrate the 99th Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia on 2nd March. He welcomed many honourable guests including ambassadors from various countries and together everyone enjoyed the celebration and musical performances by Regent’s students.
“I think that the 6th Annual Eastern Seaboard Science Fair was a great experience. We planned and carried out our experiments, and then we presented them to a set of judges at St. Andrew’s International School in Rayong. We also did a marble challenge where I got to try new things and also made great new friends.”
“For the Science Fair, we went to St. Andrew’s School in Rayong to show our experiments to a set of judges. It was great because we had a lot of fun, got to know new friends, and got some valuable feedback on our Science experiments. Personally, I felt that it was definitely worth all the hard work we put in beforehand and I would like the chance to go back and compete again next year!”
On World Book Day, the Smile Club organised a pizza and doughnut sale to raise money for the Smile Carnival – hosted by Operation Smile Thailand. This is not the first time they had fundraising. Altogether with the previous pizza/doughnut sales, they have raised over 3000 Baht.
Year 13 students’ CAS project focuses on Kiiran Care Foundation, a school run for Pakistani, Somalian and Burmese refugees and asylum-seekers. The school was opened last August and it has 67 students aged 4- 14.
Our students raised 8,588 Baht through fundraising activities such as pizza sale and coffee run. The money raised for students at Kiiran Care Foundation was used for basic necessities, playground equipment, paint and paint brushes for murals. Some of these items were donated by school students as well. The students went on-site to work with the children and improve the school.

On Saturday 25th February the Senior Girls Football team took part in the TISAC Senior Girls Football Festival hosted by Bromsgrove International School. The team played well in all four of their games, they were fiercely competitive, worked extremely hard for each other and were very unlucky to narrowly lose a couple of matches to late wonder goals by opposing strikers. The girls are to be commended on their effort, participation, perseverance and also for representing the school in such a positive and sporting manner.
