On Tuesday 3rd April 2018 Year 3 and 4 performed “Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies”- an amazing show based on the story of Robin Hood. The Year 4 children acted out the story and Year 3 led the singing and dancing.
The children did a fantastic job of entertaining the parents, visitors and children in the auditorium. Everyone really enjoyed the whole experience.

Expressive Arts Festival 2018

Last term has seen one of the most ambitious projects yet from the arts departments with some wonderful contributions from Music, Drama and English and some independent dances choreographed by our supremely talented students. The entire Art and Drama departments were transformed, evoking the casual energy of an arts festival, whilst showcasing the artistic talents of our GCSE and IB Art students, the spotlight being on the IB final exhibition.

U13 Football Festival April 5th

After a long season of football, the U13 Boys competed in their final games of the season this week. During our first festival of games, Regent’s did extremely well winning convincingly against SIS and the hosts BCIS and drawing 2 – 2 with SISB.

There was all to play for coming into the final festival which we were hosting. We came up against our closest rivals SISB in the first game, unfortunately narrowly missing out 2-1. The boys fought hard, with Sun scoring a fantastic goal in the second half. With that result, we knew we had to play well and go for the win against SIS in our final game. The team put in a superb effort, playing some very supportive and intelligent football. We had a number of opportunities to score, but the opposition goalkeeper and defenders always seemed to just get the final touch to divert the ball wide of the goal! Despite the amazing effort of the team, Regent’s finished the season a very respectable second in their league. Well done and good luck for next year!

Primary Cricket Workshop

Regent’s were very lucky to welcome England Cricket legend Mike Gatting to school last week. Mr Gatting was captain of the England team for twenty-three Test matches and is  known and respected as a cricketer throughout the world. Our Year 2 and Year 4 students received a special lesson from Mike, where they learnt how to improve their fielding and batting skills, crucial to any striking and fielding game. They were led through a circuit of activities where they were shown how to improve their skills in throwing a ball, hitting a target and catching a ball from different heights. Students are very excited about putting his coaching tips into action next term.

Under 13 Girls Football Team Final Festival

The U13 Girls Football team attended their final festival at Bromsgrove on Monday 2nd April. They did exceptionally well by beating SIS 2-0 and going on to beat Charter 5-0. They had to play the strongest team, BIST,  last of all. It was a hard fought game and Regent’s managed to keep the score line down to a 2-0 defeat. There were some stand out performances, particularly from Bell who did a fantastic job of marking the most skillful player from the BIST team. This helped us significantly with the final scoreline.
Throughout the season the players have shown great skill, determination and support to one another. Overall the team finished second in their league. They should feel very proud of this achievement.
