U15 Girls Football Festival

20180201_135006The U15s had their first football festival of the season today, welcoming Charter and Ascot to Regent’s.

With excitement, the girls took to the pitch to face Charter first. It was a messy start with Charter scoring first but the girls reacted positively and with some quick reactions from Grace she levelled the game. In the second half, the girls pulled together and produced some beautiful passing combinations, particularly between Shree, Grace and Fay. The defence worked hard but Charter slotted through a second goal. Fay reacted with a strong strike to level the game.

In our second game, we faced a very skilled Ascot side. Shree calmed the nerves early by scoring from a well timed strike. Ascot showed great passing and strong attacking play but they didn’t level until the second half. They took advantage of our doubts and slotted away 2 more goals. However, Regents never gave up. Noon was strong in defence and supporting in midfield. Benz took to the pitch with amazing focus in defence. A whole team effort gave Grace the opportunity to score our second goal, ending the game 3-2 to Ascot.

We are really looking forward to our next festival and hopefully by even stronger as a team!

Well done everyone! Player of the festival for her unrelenting energy is Grace!

Year 8 Students head to Khao Yai

Last week Year 8 went on their Outdoor Education Trip to Khao Yai. We drove into the National Park, on our first day, and were fortunate to see such stunning views and lots of wildlife. Our first activity was a two hour trek through the forest, which was quite a challenge, but worth it when we saw the crocodile. We were also able to witness evidence of other animals passing through, such as elephants and bears.

Over the next couple of days, we split into three groups and took part in activities such as rock climbing, kayaking and paint-balling. All the students had a great time and celebrated on the last day by cooking their own food on a bbq.

Well done Year 8 on such a fun filled, educational trip.
