Still Life Art in Reception

Dol’s mum very kindly brought in some tomato plants for our GROWING topic. We looked at them very carefully as we sketched them and created our own paintings of them. We were like real artists in a still life art class!

Annual Music Recital

Parents and visitors enjoyed watching over 30 children perform as part of our annual Music Recital. The children from both Primary and Early Years played various musical pieces on the piano, violin and flute. It was a wonderful experience for all involved. Many thanks to Mrs Lyng for organising the event and to the children for all their hard work and practice.

Welcome message from the Head of Primary

Dear Parents, last week we enjoyed lots of musical experiences. We were treated to a wonderful musical recital by Early Years and Primary children playing a range of instruments, including, the piano, flute and violin. Many thanks to all parents and family members who attended and also congratulations to the children who played so well, some of them for the first time to a large audience.  Last Monday The Yamaha Music School opened it’s doors and many children have signed up for music classes. There are still places available so please come and see me if you need more information or visit the Yamaha Music School on the top floor of the new building.  20 children attended the annual TISAC Choral Festival at St Andrew’s school and Mrs Lyng, Primary Music teacher, reported that the children were wonderfully behaved and gained more experience singing different styles of music and made many new friends. Have a wonderful weekend!

with best wishes Rachel

Chinese Speech Competition

On 1st, April 2016, Tong (9RM) attended the Senior Level of a Chinese Speech Competition at the Thai Chinese International School. She prepared the speech very well, but she did not get a medal because of the fierce competition. I am sure she will learn from the experience, and next year we hope to send more students to the competition. Well done, Tong. The school are very proud of your efforts.

Planting tomato seeds in Reception!

We begin a new term with a new topic – GROWING. We planted tomato seeds this week and will be taking care of them by watering the every day and making sure that they get enough sunshine. Let’s hope that we can grow some delicious tomatoes!
