Nursery to Reception Transition

As we come to an end of the 2016-2017 academic year, students and parents are both curious and wish to prepare for the next stage. Our Early Years Nursery teachers arranged a meeting to explain parents about the transition from Nursery to Reception. Education and learning in Reception is comparatively different from Nursery and Pre-nursery as the teachers will be preparing the students for Primary school where subjects and activities will diversify.

Primary Sporting Sensations at FOBISIA Games 2017

SUCCESS FOR REGENT’S AT THE PRIMARY FOBISIA GAMES 2017
Regent’s Primary students took part in the annual FOBISIA Primary Games at the beginning of June. 20 of our best athletes who had been training incredibly hard since January, traveled to Phuket to compete in Athletics, Swimming, Tee-Ball and Football. All the students came home with medals and in total Regent’s won 94 medals, 37 gold, 32 silver and 25 bronze. We also came 1st overall in Swimming and 3rd in Athletics. As well as this the U10 Girls Football team won Gold and the U11 Boys Football team won silver. All the students had a truly amazing experience, achieving great success and making friends with other students from all over Asia.

Fun learning in Year 6

During the war, rationing had to happen to save food (people were only allowed small quantities). Recipes were devised to make food, but with less ingredients.

6J did some World War 2 cooking and made some ‘ration cakes’ – following an actual recipe from World War 2.

English Week at Primary

The Regents Primary celebrated English Week in the first week after half term. We looked at telling different stories from around the world and performed them in a whole school assembly. We were lucky enough to have various students and staff from secondary come in to share stories from their cultures too. Mr Graham ran a music session with the year 6’s, Year 12 students did a storytelling session with year 3,4 and 5 and Mr Treaty ran a drama session with Year 1 and 2. Everything was a great success!

TISAC Primary Choral Day

Bromsgrove International School hosted the TISAC Primary Choral Day for students in Key Stage 2. The day was filled with various music workshops and a final performance for the parents. Regent’s students got the opportunity to perform in front of a big audience, enhance their music skills, and make new friends.

Primary Swim Gala 2017

Despite battling through almost torrential weather the Primary Swimming Gala was still a huge success. All pupil’s from year 1 to year 6 took part in the days events from races to fun activities. Students showed great character and a clear determination to never give throughout the day. At the close of competition the Red house came out as winner, by a very small margin of 4 points.
Congratulations to all who took part showing a fantastic Regents spirit.
Full results as follows:
Blue- 264 (4th)

Green – 279 (3rd)
Yellow- 280 (2nd)
Red – 284 (1st)

Student Council Disco 2017

The Primary Student Council held the Spring Disco to raise money for our charity, Good Shepherd Sisters. We had a DJ from Year 13 come to get CAS experience and we also sold snacks, popcorn and pizza at the event. We raised over 35,000 Baht. There were prizes for best dressed and best dancers. It was a great event and fun was had by all.

Maths Mastery Day in Primary

Last week ‘Maths Mastery Day’ took place throughout the primary school. All of the children had an amazing time, taking part in challenges such as painting sequences, making patterned necklaces and solving tricky puzzles.

In the afternoon, a tense but exciting maths quiz took place. Well done to our winner: Tonfai in 6J.

A huge congratulations to all of the children in primary – they put in 100% effort throughout the day.

Thank you to Mr Jarrett (Maths Coordinator) for organising the activities. The children truly progressed towards maths mastery!
