Year 13 students attended ‘The Bangkok Economics Essay Ceremony’ at the Crown Property Bureau. Their attendance was most welcome as they produced excellent evaluation essays on ‘sustainability‘. Our entries were awarded with a rating of ‘highly commended’ and also shortlisted. A great day was had by all with the sharing of knowledge throughout the event.

The “S” in the Round Square IDEALS stands for “Service”’ – something we can too easily forget to implement in our routine. We have the time to click a hundred selfies but we tend to avoid taking actions for the ones in need. Are the society norms making us selfish? Read our Principal Mr. Hogan’s view on a society where U comes before I and how our Round Square approach helps our students put other first.

On 1st, April 2016, Tong (9RM) attended the Senior Level of a Chinese Speech Competition at the Thai Chinese International School. She prepared the speech very well, but she did not get a medal because of the fierce competition. I am sure she will learn from the experience, and next year we hope to send more students to the competition. Well done, Tong. The school are very proud of your efforts.

The Regent’s Boarding community would like to wish our new boarders a very warm welcome. In the girls’ house Mlena, Sylvia, Angela and Shelley have joined us from China and Jimin has joined us from Korea. In the boys’ house, we are pleased to welcome Mike and David from China and Mou from Thailand who is coming back into boarding to spend more time with his friends. We hope all our boarders have a fantastic term.
Students in Year 7 were given the challenge of teaching each other about the phases of the moon in an interesting and creative way.
They completed this task during this term’s Speaking And Listening All Day and so were encouraged to present their ideas without using pens. Points were awarded for creativity, teamwork and the accuracy of their information and despite tough competition the winners were Amy, Catalina and Ichigo who rapped and danced through new, crescent, quater, gibbous and full moons!
