Yoga fun in Primary!

On Tuesday we opened our new Yoga after school activity and the Kru Neng (Yoga coach) reported that all of the children were brilliantly behaved and surprised her with their flexibility and stamina.
Yoga is wonderful exercise for both the body and the mind.

Amazing Potato Projects

In Year 5 we have been growing our own potatoes at home. They started off with a ‘seed’ potato, which they suspended in a little water. Over the following weeks they made a diary to record the growth (if any) of their potatoes.

Here are the results from 5T in pictures. Can you guess whose potato had the longest stem?

Christmas Party at the Good Shepherd Sisters

Representatives from the Student Council helped to make the Christmas party at the Good Shepherd Sister’s very special. They played games and gave out the colouring books and pencils everyone in Primary generously donated as gifts. Some of the money raised from Halloween was used to buy chicken and sticky rice for the children too. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Christmas appeal this year!

Welcome & Dates from Head of Primary

Dear Parent,

As we lead into our last week before the Christmas holidays I am reminded of excited feelings we all enjoy at this special time of the year.

Today we all enjoyed a wonderful performance of The Grumpy Sheep performed by the children in our Early Years department. The acting, singing and dancing was fabulous and it always amazes me of how confident our children are particularly at such a young age.

This week we are looking forward to our Early Years Open afternoon on Tuesday, the whole school Christmas concert on Wednesday,  our parent consultation on Thursday and our party morning on Friday.

With best wishes,
Rachel

Messages from the Heads of School (Week 13 2015)

From Mr. Brian Irving, Head of Secondary

It my pleasure once again to welcome a group of Secondary Parents to school to engage in a presentation on the Changing Teenage Brain where we looked at some of the neuroscience behind why teenagers behave as they do. I shall shortly be making an abridged version of the presentation available, in addition to the key points translated into Thai.
Last week, the Secondary students participated valiantly in our annual Sports Day. Despite the searing heat, the various events were all competed for competitively and this year we had a staff team in the mix whose fortunes were mixed. An excellent event that was enjoyed by all who attended!
On Monday we welcomed Peter Dalglish to school again to talk to the students and staff about his many and varied experiences of giving service to others. As inspirational as usual, Mr Dalglish enthralled the audience and encouraged the students and staff to make a lasting difference to the lives of people much less fortunate than ourselves.

Have a learning filled week.
Brian

From Mrs. Rachel Perkins, Head of Primary

Dear Parent,

It is amazing how time flies when you are having fun. The weeks now seem to be wizzing along to Christmas and I can not believe that we only have three weeks left of this term.
The school is preparing for the festive season and the children are all beginning to rehearse for their Christmas performances. Please check the ‘Important Dates’ section and add all these exciting events to your diary. Another fun event that we are planning is the Early Years Open Afternoon where all the children will have a wonderful, fun filled afternoon and even a special visit from Father Christmas, please tell your friends and family and register your place with the Admissions team. The weekend the school will be at Ploenchit Fair and I hope to see you all there, having fun and hopefully joining us on the water slide. I am sure it will be a great event and a fantastic way to raise money for charity.
Have a great weekend!
with best wishes
Rachel

Key Stage 1 Stars of the week

This weeks Year 1 and Stars of the Week are: Leon, Baby, Sebastian and Anya! Well done!

Welcome letter from Head of Primary

Dear Parent,

I am writing to you this week surrounded by the sights and sounds of our annual Science Day. The children have worked very hard on their projects and the corridors are full of paper airplanes, egg boxes and personally designed cars. The winners of the challenges this year were the Red Dragons and the overall winner for the Science Investigation was Data in Year 6. Many congratulations to all the children who took part.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

With best wishes,
Rachel
