The annual FOBISIA Golf Championships was held at the prestigious Black Mountain Golf Course last week. All of the student’s performed magnificently as they battled hard to show all the schools in Asia that Regent’s, Bangkok has some of the best young golfers in this part of the world.
The course has recently been rated the 59th best Golf course in the world and was therefore a fantastic setting for such an occasion. Regent’s, Bangkok took 7 players to the Championships with students from Year 6 to Year 12. The tournament was a two day event, culminating in an awards ceremony for both individual and team prizes. With some extremely experienced golfers present at the Championships, it made for an exciting and tough competition.
The awards are as follows: Jenny (Year 12) 1st place overall U19 girls / 1st place overall girls gross; Mac (Year 7) 3rd place overall boys gross / 2nd overall U11 boys / Nearest the pin x 2; Stephen (Year 6) 4th place overall U11 Boys / longest drive / Nearest the pin; Mac/Stephen (Year 7 and Year  6) – 3rd place Team U11 boys and Mic (Year 8) 3rd place overall U13 boys
