U16 International Football Friendly Match

Regent’s U16 Football team hosted a friendly match against a touring Uzbekistan team who were here in Bangkok to showcase some of their players to the professional clubs in Thailand, as well as giving their team an opportunity to experience playing football against different nationalities. It was also a fantastic opportunity for some of our students to play against and watch a team of players who have an extremely high level of organisation and talent, and who have been playing together for a number of years. The visitors won the game comfortably beating Regent’s 12-2, however our students can be proud that they battled hard up until the final whistle and managing to score 2 goals against a very solid defense was a great achievement.

TISAC Senior Girls Football Festival

On Saturday 25th February the Senior Girls Football team took part in the TISAC Senior Girls Football Festival hosted by Bromsgrove International School. The team played well in all four of their games, they were fiercely competitive, worked extremely hard for each other and were very unlucky to narrowly lose a couple of matches to late wonder goals by opposing strikers. The girls are to be commended on their effort, participation, perseverance and also for representing the school in such a positive and sporting manner.

Secondary Sports Day 2017

On Thursday 16th of February the annual Secondary Sports Day took place at Ramkhamhaeng University Stadium. Students of all abilities competed in a range of individual and team athletic events throughout the day. This included a range of both traditional track and field events and also some extra events such as the Tug of War and Speed Bounce competitions. There was also a staff relay at the end, which involved various fun activities like the egg and spoon and 3 legged races. All of the students had an incredibly enjoyable day and relished in the competitive environment in order to challenge for the Sports Day House Cup. The eventual winners were Yellow House who won by the tiniest of margins, only 3 points. Well done Yellow House. The age group cups were won by the following houses.

U13’s Cup – Blue House
U15 Cup – Yellow House
Senior Cup – Blue House

U13 Girls – TISAC Football Tournament

The U13 Girls recently competed in the TISAC Football Tournament at Bromsgrove International School. They played in 5 hard fought games against schools around Bangkok. The girls worked hard throughout each of the matches to produce goals and some skillful play. The girls also demonstrated great sportsmanship and leadership skills to produce a fantastic 4th place finish. Well done girls! We look forward to our next football festival at KIS in March.

Secondary TISAC Athletics Competition

On Thursday, we took away 32 students to represent Regent’s at the Secondary TISAC Athletics competition. The day was a real team effort with students pushing themselves to their limits. They behaved impeccably as they supported their team mates through a range of events including 1500m, triple jump and javelin. The team demonstrated determination and perseverance throughout the day, resulting in a medal count of 18, 7 of which being gold! Our gold streak included, double gold medals to Catalina (U13) and Lissa (Senior) for Long Jump and Triple Jump and our 4x 100m Senior boys team steaming to victory in a closely contended race.

These fantastic efforts resulted in the Senior team coming third overall. A brilliant achievement considering the caliber of the schools in attendance.

Thank you to Mr Harrison and Ms Allcroft who spent the whole day running the Long Jump event for the students and to all the students for showing true Regent’s spirit throughout the day.

TISAC Primary Athletics Competition

We took an enthusiastic group of Year 6 athletes along to the annual TISAC Primary Athletics competition, held at St Johns. The students were fantastic and worked really hard in the run, jump and throw events. A notable result was May who won a gold medal in the 600m running race.

Secondary Theme Day – Jan 2017

A healthy lifestyle involves making choices involving physical and mental well-being. In this theme day, students were given the opportunity to learn about different factors that affect our lives, such as smoking, puberty, contraception and sex etc.. Along with this, students were given the opportunity to meet with Childline volunteers to discuss ways to help our mental well-being. This was super effective in allowing students to reflect on themselves and how they can manage challenges they face.

Year 13’s spent the day with Mindfulness teacher Anna Croucher with a specific focus on stress management. These important skills can be brought through these difficult exam months.

To end the day our new energetic prefects ran a assembly. This included fitness games, action quiz, yoga and meditation. Our prefects reminded students of all of the different components that contribute to a healthy lifestyle and that the most important thing is to enjoy yourself.

TISAC Football Updates – Jan 2017

The Senior’s kicked off the first TISAC boys football festival on Monday 23rd January and performed absolutely brilliantly, winning both their games to put themselves top of the league after the first round of games. They won a tough first match against the host school, beating St Andrews 107 3-2. Confidence was high after that victory, which enabled them to play some impressive football to win their second match against Concordian 4-0.

On Wednesday 25th January the U15 Boys played their opening games of the TISAC Football League. They started fantastically, putting in a great performance to beat Concordian 4-0 in the first game. However in the next match against Charter a couple of lapses of concentration in defense allowed the opposition to score twice and beat Regent’s 2-0. In an effort to make amends for the previous defeat the boys worked hard and created a hat full of chances to impressively beat Heathfield 6-0. With other results going Regent’s way there is currently a three way tie on points at top of the league, however Regents superior goal difference put them top and make for some exciting battles in the next round of matches.
