We celebrated Shrove Tuesday (pancake day) by making pancakes, tasting pancakes and even racing with a frying pan & tossing a pancake!
Many congratulations to the U9 Boys football team that won 6:3 against St Andrew’s 107 on Tuesday. The boys paid brilliantly together and Mr Bond commented on their ability to keep concentrating on the game throughout the match. Go Regent’s!
The children in Key Stage enjoy celebrating good work and great learning behaviour. This week we handed out the stars of the week certificates in our weekly assembly and the chidlren receveid a huge round of applause! They were rightfully very proud to receive their certificates! Well done to them all!
Year 12 Art students visited the Museum of Contemporary Art ‘MOCA’ today with a focus on portraits.
They investigated the many ways different Artist’s represent portraits, from the most realistic images to the subtle and abstract. This is the start of their new journey whereby they will produce their own self portrait.

Intense rivalry and furious discussion have filled the foyer this week for the House Debate Competition. Each house entered a team for the Junior, Middle and Senior debate heats to determine who went through to the finals. Students were challenged not only to stand and speak in front of their teachers and peers, but also to research and evaluate some difficult and sometimes controversial arguments, such as international adoption, animal testing and performance enhancing drugs.
The winners of each age category are as follows:
Junior (years 7 and 8) – Red House
Middle (years 9 and 10) – Blue House
Senior (years 11, 12 and 13) – Green House
The overall winner for the House Debate Competition based on overall scores and points difference is Blue House.
Well done everyone who contributed to an excellent series of debates.

Mr Jarrett’s class were investigating how bird’s beaks have adapted to their different food sources. The students used pliers, spoons, forks and chopsticks to represent the different kinds of bird beaks. Screws, ribbons, spaghetti and foam balls were used to represent the different shapes and sizes of the food.
They had a great time whilst learning!
There’s always fantastic work that goes on throughout school that we thought it would be great to share some! Here’s a great article written by a student in Year 6:
As the eerie sound of loneliness approached, the school had been destroyed. Paper flew everywhere like birds flying through the sky. Books spilled across the floor, lockers flew open as the school stood in silence. The beautiful, perfect school was gone. Gone. Instead it turned into a dirty, damp school. If a school was like that, would you go there?
Sitting down, shivering with fear, the boy realized what he had done. Tears rolled slowly down his face as he wiped them away. He didn’t know what had happened but he knew he had to get out of the school. FAST. Feeling very upset and embarrassed, the boy sat in silence, wondering what to do. He quickly walked out of the school as fast and quietly as possible.
The boy cautiously walked out the school as he passed the police car. Nervously, he crept along the wet grass to grab his huge, colourful bicycle (luckily, the police officer didn’t notice him). The boy pedaled down the street very quickly as fast as lighting; thinking what he had done wrong.
Cycling really fast, the boy jumped off his bike and into his house. As he arrived, he saw the news on TV. He knew it was about him destroying the school. In a hurry, he packed his everyday-things into a small, brown backpack.
Terrified, the boy heard a sound of doors cracking open. He quickly zoomed into the kitchen; his eyes locked on the door. But once he arrived in front of the door, it was locked! The police now had crashed into his house holding gigantic guns. The boy looked around for keys; his eyes searched the kitchen until he found them lying on the table. He couldn’t go and grab them so surprisingly, he used his magic powers and quickly retrieved them.
The police were now searching the house as the boy disappeared through the kitchen door. The boy appeared in the dark forest. His legs started to quiver, his mouth began to dry up, he was petrified! As he walked through the forest, his feet crunched on the wood.
As soon as the burning sun fell down, the bright moon rose up in the night sky. The lights from the police car shone on him as he made his way through the woods. The police’s flashlight followed him like a shadow as he ran for his life.
Anxiously, the boy ran and ran through the woods until he got kicked by a police officer. He fell down onto his back; he froze.
” FREEZE!” shouted a police officer with an angry, burning face. He was shouting his head off! The boy looked around, seeing hundreds of police officers surrounding him.
” P-p-p- please let me go, ” the boy stammered. He was shivering with fear, begging the police officers to let him go. Cautiously, the boy tried to run but too many police officers surrounded him. He looked at them, their eyes filled with anger as they moved closer and closer.
The boy fell to his knees and covered his face with his arms. In a sudden, he exploded into a million pieces and blew away all the police officers…

The U13 Girls Football team traveled to Sky Kicks football ground to face Wells in their first match of the season on Tuesday.
An excited team took to the pitch and, in a frantic first half, were drawing 1-1 after 10 minutes with a goal from Catalina. Wells was a mix of experience and new additions, using their experienced players to score their second goal, ending the first half 1-2.
The girls took to the pitch in the second half still energized and keen for a second goal. Catalina, Waii and Cartoon were all pushing forward to make it happen, though unfortunately unsuccessful.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed this game and are looking forward to the next.

Week 2, game 2!
The U13 boy’s, second football game of the season would demonstrate if the players had taken heed of their coach’s advice after an initial 1-1 draw with another International School. The only perceived area of weakness was the player’s level of self belief! Would this game prove to be the turning point? Could our players produce a performance that is reflective of all their hard work and commitment?
The answer is, yes! The team started well with some calculated attacks; the defence looked organised and Plub was our anchor, a fine example of a goalkeeper, standing dominantly between the sticks! Regents took an early lead through Khawklong’s excellent centre forward scavenging effort. The score line remained the same until after the break when a lapse in concentration enabled the visitors to sneak 2 goals, which put them back in contention. The spirit and strength of the Regent’s team shone through. A brace from Ann-Ann; a sublime shot from Captain Tor and a wonder strike from Gain ensured that the team recorded a fine 5-2 win. We must retain such a sense of belief in our remaining games. Tor’s fine leadership promotes, “Every player is a captain; every captain a leader; strong leadership equals direction”!
